Pro-Fit Energy are advocates of biomass heating systems which can be used to warm single rooms or to power central heating and hot water cylinders.

Traditionally wood has been used in stoves and open fires, but there is now a range of technologies available to use wood (logs, chip or pellets) to run modern heating systems.
